Basic Chicken Facts

Chicken combs should always be full and blemish free. Chickens eyes should always be bright, clear, and alert.  Their nostrils should have nothing in the way of them at all times. Their wattles should be round and undamaged. Their plumage should be in good condition, bright, lustrous, and sleek.

 

Chicken body temperature is 105-107 degrees F. Human body temperature is 98.6 degrees F. Chicken respiration is 30-35 per minute. Human is 12-18 per minute. Chicken heart rate is 280-315 beats per minute. Human is 60-80.

 

 

 

FYI you don’t need a ROOSTER for your hens to lay eggs. You need a rooster for your hens to have chicks.
